Abrahamic Foundation Islamic Advisory Hub (AFIAH)

The Abrahamic Foundation is pleased to offer The Islamic Advice Hub. This Surgery aims to provide advice and guidance on all matters of Islamic law. It aims to give you professional guidance from Islamic scholars trained in Islamic legal issues in a private and confidential manner. We deal with a range of issues from birth to death, marriage to divorce.

I need some advice, how do I see a counselor?
You must book an appointment. You will be given an appointment time. You are requested to be on time. If you are late someone else may be given your slot. If you would like to see a particular scholar then you are welcome to request that when you make your booking.

We currently do not issue Islamic Divorce certificates, but we can advise you what to do should you need one.

Surgery Opening Times:
Currently the Surgery is open only on Mondays 6-8 pm.                                                       

Currently there are NO fees. This is a FREE service to the community.

Dr. Shahrul Hussain
Dr. Shahrul Hussain is a Lecturer in Islamic Studies at the Markfield Institute for Higher Education. He completed his primary Islamic education at a specialist Islamic college, DarulUloom Al-Islamiyah Al-Arabiyah School & College, Birmingham. After graduating from DarulUloom he won a scholarship to study at the University of Al-Azhar, Cairo, Egypt, and graduated from the Faculty of Islamic Jurisprudence and Law in 2001. In 2010 he completed his PhD at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland.
His area of specialization is comparative jurisprudence (Fiqh al-Muqaranah). Besides this he lectures on Qur’anic studies, Hadith studies and Islamic history.

Imam Nasir Zameer
Imam Nasir Zameer graduated from The Institute of Islamic Education, Dewsbury as an alim in 2005 attaining a BA in Shariah. He then went on to complete his PGCE in 2009. Imam Nasir has extensive experience within the field of education being a secondary school teacher and a member of many bodies including Sandwell SACRE, interfaith committees, parents associations, school governing bodies and currently the head of The Lighthouse Supplementary School.
Imam Nasir is presently the Project Manager of the Abrahamic Foundation and a course instructor for many AF courses

Sheikh Morshed Alom al-Azhari
Sheikh Morshed Alam is a graduate of the University of Al-Azhar. He is currently an Islamic studies teacher at a private Islamic college. He also works as a volunteer Chaplin with the NHS.  Sheikh Morshed Alam is an active community member, attending and delivering many courses. He is currently completing his Master in Islamic Banking and Finance.
His area of specialization is the Arabic language, comparative jurisprudence (Fiqh al-Muqaranah), Qur’anic studies, Hadith studies, Islamic history and theology.
